We're happy to look at your farm track or rural driveway needs.

Yes, it does.

Costs will depend on the condition (number and depth of potholes), original build, and size of your track. As an example a 500m tanker lane with moderate potholes would cost $760 + GST. We recently completed a heavily potholed 250m driveway, which cost $475 + GST. Travel time is additional. A top up gravel mix might be required and will be discussed with you. Please contact us to discuss your individual requirements.

A rough, potholed track or drive adds to vehicle wear and tear and can be a safety issue for you and your staff. A rough cow track can cause distress to your stock, add to lameness reducing milk production, incurring vet bills, withholding periods if treatment is required, and costing you extra time administering to lame stock.

I cover Nelson, Motueka, Tasman, Golden Bay and down the West Coast.

Pothole - noun. A hole in a road surface that results from gradual damage caused by traffic and/or weather. (Thanks to the Cambridge Dictionary.)

As to the origin of the word, one theory is it dates back to the 15th–16th centuries. Potters would source clay directly from road surfaces to make their pots, resulting in hazardous 'potholes' for wagon wheels. Another, that it first appeared in 1800's and referred to the natural cavity in rock, often found in caves or riverbeds.
